The Omega Speedmaster is arguably one of the most popular watches to exist so it is understandable that Omega would keep releasing newer or revamped version of this particular watch line. While I do like the Speedmaster there are a few issues in this one that I simply just cannot look past mainly if you simply reversed the numbers “18K” you get the price for the watch.
Most if not all watch enthusiasts and collectors would probably have a grail watch sitting at this price range, and at this price range you be pretty specific with the watches you want to purchase. You can get a lot of excellent watches with rich history and can even purchase watches with more complications. These are again my own personal recommendations and the prices are in USD.
At these price ranges you definitely start dwelling into what a lot of would say is there grail watch, and on the other hand you would have a lot of people also say this is their daily watch. Omega is the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games so it makes sense that they will release another watch to commemorate the event. When it comes to nature inspired dials, Grand Seiko should be at the top of the list when it comes to other watchmakers. It is nice to see that other watch manufacturers have decided to go this route and take inspiration from nature just like this Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Beijing 2022 where it has an ice textured dial.
That was not a typo Omega really did call this watch Black Black however, it does describe the watch perfectly as everything about this watch is in a shade of black besides the movement. While this watch is extremely unique especially for Omega it is not a limited edition watch, therefore everyone would be able to have a chance of either seeing this watch in person or purchasing this watch.
The 2021 America’s Cup will being on the 6th of March and will end on the 21st of March and since Omega is the official timekeeper for the event, they have released a watch to commemorate this perfectly and it is not a limited edition watch meaning everyone will have the chance to purchase this watch. There is also a very special function on this watch that makes it the perfect watch for this event which will be discussed further down below.
