Ace Jewelers has collaborated with Nomos a few times previously, and this watch will be their 6th time to collaborate with each other and will also celebrate a 5-year partnership with Nomos. Some of the previous collaborations include the Ace X Nomos Club Campus Amsterdam, Ace X Nomos Zurich Weltzeit Amsterdam and the Ace x Nomos Limited Edition Orion 100 Years De Stijl. All of these watches were met with high praise and this watch will certainly be no different.
Recently I read an article about how consumers felt on their product and service, availability customer satisfaction, innovation and quality and ranked them based on other brands. In this article Rolex was scored at 74.6, while Omega was scored at 77.6 and Nomos scored a perfect 100 and was awarded with the “Highest Quality” Seal. I have never heard anyone complain about the quality of their Nomos watch so really it all is dependant on whether you like how it looks. This particular collaboration while I am a fan, I know some people will not be as happy with the colour combination. The dark navy dial is contrasted with orange Arabic numeral and accents with an orange small seconds hand. The hour and minute hands are also coated with white Super-LumiNova.
The watch comes in a case size of 36mm made out of stainless steel, and is waterproof to a 100m. The watch is powered by the alpha calibre manual movement that has a power reserve of 42 hours and depending on the watch you either get a sapphire case back where you can see the movement, or the closed case back. In the sapphire case back you can see the impressive finish on the movement, which is definitely the one I would go for. Currently as of writing the closed back watch has been sold out, and the sapphire case back remains. The watch comes paired with a black Horween Shell Cordovan leather strap with a stainless-steel pin buckle, but you also get two NATO straps in orange and navy.
The Ace x NOMOS Club 36 Blue Limited Edition as a whole is limited to 150 pieces worldwide. The closed caseback is made makes up 50 pieces and the sapphire case back version makes up the remaining 100 pieces. The closed case back is priced at GBP 913 and the sapphire case back is priced at GPB 1,133, and both watches are available through ace jewelers website here. The closed caseback watch has already sold out which does show the high demand for this collaboration, and for good reason.
