While this is not the only news from Ulysse Nardin in celebration of their latest brand ambassador they have revealed a new diver chronograph limited edition great white watch. While in 2019, Ulysse Nardin did release a women’s great white diver this watch comes in a case size of 44mm. Ulysse Nardin alongside with their long-time brand partner OCEARCH released the great white shark Ulysse off the coast of Nova Scotia.

Ulysse Nardin partnered with the White Shark research organisation OCEARCH, their aim is to provide open-source data on great whites through its program of catch, study, tag and release. Ulysse is a 990lbs (449kg) adult male great white shark measuring at 12 foot and 4 inches (377.9cm) and it was tagged in the North Atlantic Sea off Ironbound Island, Nova Scotia on September 14, 2021. It is impressive to see more and more watch makers getting involved with conservation efforts and funding scientific research and it should definitely be followed by others. The watch is made out of titanium and comes at a case size of 44m and is 16.1mm thick and the case has a brushed and media blasted matte finish. This watch does not come with an exhibition window caseback but instead has a solid back which features a great white shark motif. It comes with an incredible 300m water resistance and Super-LumiNova on the hour markers and hands, and as an added bonus on the strap there is a stylized great white shark also with Super-LumiNova. It comes powered with an UN-150 automatic chronograph movement which has a power reserve of 52 hours. It comes paired with a white rubber strap that matches the bezel of the watch and has a signed titanium link with the brands name.

Another notable brand that puts a lot of effort into conservation and backing scientific research is Oris and it is great to hear many other brands following the same path. Ulysse Nardin will be releasing the Diver Chronograph 44mm Limited Edition Great White in October for the United States and it will be available early 2022 worldwide. The watch will be priced at $13,300 and there will only be 300 pieces made.
