Sinn is celebrating their 60th anniversary with a limited edition Sinn 103 Classic 12

While Seiko is celebrating their 140^th anniversary, this year also marks a very special occasion for Sinn as it is their 60^th anniversary. Sinn has been a favourite among watch fans for their extremely reliable tool watches. Developed in the mid 1960s, the 103 pilot watch from Sinn was the first aviation watch they developed. This watch series has then become one of the more popular variants from Sinn thus making it the perfect watch to celebrate their 60^th anniversary.

This watch is limited to 600 pieces worldwide and since it is a modern interpretation of the classic 103 it has a few new discerning features such as a ceramic bezel. The ceramic bezel is making its first appearance on the 103 series and this bezel features a twelve-hour scale. This allows the user to be able to use it as a second time zone function with its hour ratcheting functionality. The indices on the dial are rhodium-plated and including the hour, minute and second hand are luminous. The dial as described Sinn is a glossy black electroplated with a sunburst pattern with contrasts quite well with the three sub dials that has the same colour as the numerals on the bezel.  

The watch features sapphire crystal on both the dial and the transparent case back which showcases the SW 510 automatic movement with a power reserve of 48 hours. The surrounding area of the transparent case back also features the number out of 600 as well as a “1961-2021” and “60 Jahre” which translates to 60 years. The case size is 41mm and is water and pressure resistant to 200 metres. It also features a date display in between the 4 and 5 o’clock position. Sinn also mentions that it has an Ar-Dehumidifying Technology that enhances the functional reliability of the watch and also allows freedom from fogging.

The watch is limited to 600 pieces worldwide and is priced at $3,270 and does take some shopping around to find this watch in stock as it is quite a special watch for watch collectors and Sinn watch fans. The watch comes paired with two straps and a spring bar tool and spare spring bars, the first strap is a dark green leather strap and the second one is a black alligator embossed leather strap with white stitching.
