The new Casio A100WEPC made in collaboration with Pac-Man

A collaboration that seems obvious but finally has come together to create the Casio x Pac-Man watch. Casio first released a watch in 1974, while Pac-Man was released in 1980 and both have stood the test of time and continued to thrive through the years. Pac-Man is still one of the most popular video games available, and Casio has made their mark in a variety of different products as well as their watches. This watch spares no detail and both Casio and Pac-Man gave their input to create an amazing collaborative piece.

A collaboration that seems obvious but finally has come together to create the Casio x Pac-Man watch. Pac-Man is still one of the most popular video games available, and Casio has made their mark in a variety of different products as well as their watches. This watch spares no detail and both Casio and Pac-Man gave their input to create an amazing collaborative piece.

Casio has taken their very familiar and favourite digital watch design and paired with several design elements from Pac-Man. The dial immediately shows the classic Pac-Man map layout featuring all four ghosts as well as Pac-Man that looks exactly the same as the game. The strap as well comes with the same map layout and design but without the bright vivid colours instead opting for a more monochrome colour design. The usual buttons seen on the side of the watch have been replaced with pushers on top of the case giving it a much sleeker look than its usual style. The case back of the watch has the original Pac-Man level and also a button guide indicating what the pushers on the front of the case do.

As this is Casio and it being a digital quartz watch with their own in-house movement, the abundance of features is to be expected. It features a 1/10 second chronograph, perpetual calendar, 24 hour-time format, alarm functionality, an hourly time signal and is accurate to +30/-30 seconds per month with a battery life of 3 years. The case size comes in at 40.7mm in height and 32.7mm in width and is a gold tone resin case. The case back of the watch indicates that the watch is water resistant, however given the price of the watch as well as the lack of a proper water-resistant indication, caution around water would be necessary. Finally, it does come in its own Pac-Man themed watch box and display, that would be worth collecting just for case and watch holder.

For a collaborative watch the price is a definite shock as it is priced at $99.95, given the level of detail as well as the functionality of the watch it is a very pleasant surprise. This is not a limited-edition watch either, therefore anyone would be able to purchase this watch making this a must buy for any fan of Casio and Pac-Man.
