The Tudor Black Bay Bronze Bucherer Blue was one of many watches that was initially released in 2018 as a celebration of Bucherer’s 130th anniversary. The only issue with that release was that it was only available in Europe, however it has now finally been given a U.S. release.

The Tudor Black Bay is easily the most famous watch line that was released by Tudor, and for very good reason. While Tudor has been called a poor man’s Rolex, I would have to disagree as I think the Black Bay is easily my favourite when it comes to dive watches. Also, for what they have accomplished the comment is completely inaccurate. Now for the Tudor Black Bay Bronze Bucherer Blue while it has been given a U.S. release it is only available through Tourneau.

The case size comes in at 43mm and is in bronze, with all the details of the watch such as the minute indices as well as the numbering around the bezel all done in bronze. This is contrast to that iconic blue that was seen in 2018 with the earlier release. As it is a diver it is rated for a water resistance of 200 metres and comes with sapphire crystal. The strap is a blue Nato-style strap that has a bronze line that goes down the middle further accentuating the colour scheme of the watch and it is coupled with a bronze buckle. The movement used in the watch is the Tudor Caliber MT560, this movement was initially released in 2016 for the Heritage Black Bay Bronze. The movement was released due to the fact that Tudor needed a movement that would work with a larger case size from 41mm to 43mm. It is an automatic movement and has a power reserve of 70 hours and is also COSC certified. COSC stands for Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres, this is a certificate given by a neutral and impartial Swiss non-profit organisation that a lot of swiss manufacturers send their watches to get certified. This certification proves that the watch is very accurate, there is a long list for the testing criteria and takes 15 days. This watch also comes with a five year warranty, but hearing from previous owners of Tudor watches they have usually been very unproblematic.

It can currently be bought on Tourneau for $4,150 which is a great price for the watch while it is available. This watch was a huge success in Europe, and currently checking other sellers the watch can be bought for about $5,000, so buying this brand new would be even better as it is not only cheaper but is also the official release of the watch. I never really thought that blue and bronze would be a good colour combination but after seeing the watch I would have to agree that this is one of my definite favourite colourways for the Tudor Black Bay.
