At this price range you are not restricted in your watch style, the only thing that can stop you is if you are looking at the very high-end luxury brands. I will mostly be recommending watches that I like. I do not think at this price range you can really go wrong either and you can also get some very interesting vintage pieces. Just make sure the specifications of the watch align with other watches available on the market at this price range. All prices are in USD.
Frederique Constant Classics Heart Beat Automatic FC-310MS5B6 ($1,500)
A dress watch with an open heart feature on the dial from Frederique Constant. I know a lot of people have an issue with their slogan of being affordable luxury, but you cannot deny for the price what you are getting is well worth it. They are considered young compared to other watch manufacturers but what they have been able to make within their time has been incredible. This watch has a 40mm case diameter with an automatic movement. The movement has a power reserve of 38 hours and also has sapphire crystal for both the front and the exhibition window at the case back of the watch. The dial itself has a guilloché decoration. It is also paired with a black leather strap.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer WAY101A.BA0746 ($1,600)
A very resilient and strong diver watch with a water resistance of 300m. The bezel itself is a unidirectional rotating bezel and comes with luminous hands and hour markers. It is a quartz movement but for how strong and versatile this watch is, I would say for the price you are getting a very reliable manufacturer and watch. If you are looking for a very strong diver that you can also dress down into a more formal setting this is the watch you should go for. However, at this price range you can find other dive watches from Seiko that will be stronger and also a bit cheaper. This is just my own personal recommendation, just remember there a lot of other choices when it comes to this price range.

Grand Seiko SBGX295 ($1,900)
A very good entry level Grand Seiko, this variation is available for both men and women. With this watch however you are confined to getting a quartz movement instead of automatic. This particular model comes in with a case diameter of 37mm with a white dial. It has anti-reflective sapphire crystal with a crocodile leather band and a 100m water resistance. It is also anti-magnetic, meaning it will not be at a risk of getting magnetised and ruining the timekeeping of the watch. If you are looking to own a Grand Seiko and you are restricted to this budget range this is a great watch to start with.

Omega Seamaster Ladies Watch 2583.80.00 ($1,500+)
It might take some shopping around to find the watch at this price, right now as of the time of posting it is available on chrono24 for $1,500. The watch you are getting for this price is well worth it. It is a quartz movement, but for that you get an amazing manufacturer and a very iconic piece from Omega. It comes with a sapphire crystal and a 28mm case diameter with luminous hands and hour markers. It is an older watch being released in 1995 so finding the best quality of the watch might be a challenge. However, to get this at that price I would definitely pull the trigger especially if you are looking for an Omega Seamaster.

Longines Evidenza L.2.142.4.51.4 ($1,100)
A ladies watch from a very reputable and a manufacturer that has a lot of history. This watch has a very elegant look and also comes with a beautifully designed dial. It also comes with an automatic movement with a 40 hour power reserve with a steel case with a case diameter of 26mm. If you want a larger wrist size there is a men’s version but that will run about $2,000 but it will come with a case diameter of 33mm. It comes with a crocodile leather and comes with sapphire crystal. It has a tonneau case shape, which is becoming a very popular choice with a lot of manufacturers.
